Weekly Charity PUPdate - April Week 1

We’re heckin’ excited that the sun is shining and spring has arrived! This time of year reminds us of the beauty of new beginnings, and we wanted to highlight a fresh start this week.

Meet Catalina! This sweet 6-year-old doggo is a bundle of joy. She was rescued by Los Adoptables, a local rescue facility in Ensenada, Mexico, TWO YEARS AGO!

She sat in their shelter wishing for the day that she could go home to her new life…until we arrived at the scene.

Upon visiting Mexico four our vaccination mission, the staff at Los Adoptables urged us to take Catalina with us in hopes that she might have a better chance at a FURever home in the United States!

As soon as we put her on a leash, it was as if she knew that change was on the horizon! Her eyes lit up and Terry (We Love Doggos Executive Director) walked her into the van.

They grabbed a cozy spot by our side of the van for the drive. She rested her sweet face on our laps as if to say “thank you.”

Our team had to take a pit stop on the way back…it happened to be right next to a PetSmart, and I said to Terry, “This girl needs a toy!” Terry ran inside and came back with a rainbow piñata and gave it to Catalina.

It brings tears to my eyes to reflect on this moment of the trip; she grabbed it with her mouth and never let it go. Terry had most definitely given Catalina her first toy every, and she cherished it.

Catalina was in the safe haven that is The Animal Pad for three short weeks before being placed in an excellent foster home nearby.

While it’s only a temPAWrary home, we are so relieved that she is snuggled up in a warm bed…hopefully with plenty of toys to go around. Here she is at a recent adoption event in San Diego, California!

Do you or someone you know need help giving your cherished family pet a fresh start this spring? We Love Doggos Charity is dedicated to helping our community of dog lovers to get the medical support they need for their doggos.

We award three $500 grants for medical expenses for those in need per month.

All you have to do is apply and explain the current circumstances, send a photo or video of your doggo in need, and provide your veterinarian’s information in order to be considered for this grant.
