Let's face it, sometimes it's hard to resist those sad puppy dog eyes staring up at you while you're enjoying a snack. The begging can be heart wrenching, but if you're snacking on one of these 5 foods, saying no should become much, MUCH easier after reading this.
These are 5 fatal foods you should never give to your doggo.
1. Chocolate The Animal Poison Control Center receives more calls about chocolate than any other food. Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine, types of Methylxanthines which can cause vomiting, diarrhea, panting, excessive thirst and urination, hyperactivity, abnormal heart rhythm, tremors, seizures, and death. |
2. Grapes & Rasins Grapes can cause stomach upset, lethargy, and acute kidney injury. A new theory indicates that tartaric acid may be the part of the grape which causes toxicity in dogs. |
3. Macadamia Nuts Eating macadamia nuts can cause weakness, depression, vomiting, tremors, and hyperthermia and pancreatitis, a potentially fatal inflammation of the pancreas. |
4. Avocados Avocados contain a toxin called Persin, which is perfectly safe for human consumption but can be very poisonous to dogs. If a dog eats these, fluid may accumulate in the lungs and chest which makes it difficult for them to breathe, and can lead to oxygen deprivation or even death. |
5. Coffee and Tea Consuming caffeine can cause abnormal heart rhythm or lung failure in dogs, which can ultimately lead to death. Coffee, tea, and other sources of caffeine should be kept away from your doggo. |

Thank you so much for this info! I give my cocker spaniel a little piece of my chocolate whenever I eat one along with coffee. She’s gonna be mad because she’s not getting this anymore.
Hey Darrah, We Love Doggos here.
Unfortunately avocados are toxic for doggos because they contain persin, a chemical which causes digestive issues. You can read more about it here on the ASPCA website. https://www.aspca.org/news/scoop-avocado-and-your-pets
Is all this a proven fact? My dog eats avocado not alot but some.
