Weekly Charity PUPdate - June Week 1

Hey there Doggo Lovers,

This week’s Pupdate is a very special one.

This is the story of Florence, a four-legged miracle. If you love dogs (and we know you do), then you are going to fall in love with this little girl (and you just might shed a tear or two).

She has been recuperating at The Animal Pad, our Hero Club charity partner in San Diego, the last couple of months and is now ready to find her “forever home”. Florence is 4 years old, spayed, potty-trained, leash trained, smiley, easy-going, fun…just the perfect companion.

Now, about this little miracle girl…

You may notice Florence’s quirky facial markings…we prefer to call them “beauty marks”. Her scars are a testament to all that she’s been able to overcome. When The Animal Pad found her emaciated and alone in on the streets, she had a large tumor on her head. When we say large…it weighed 19 pounds!

Homeless, starving to death on the streets of Ensenada…not a prayer in the world, right?

Wrong!

Our friends at The Animal Pad took scooped her up and shuttled her across the border back to San Diego where she underwent extensive chemotherapy. The only difficulty she’s had since the tumor removal has been slight vision loss in one eye. She takes special eyedrops for that. She can still see and feel every ounce of love and care that she receives, and she’ll thank you for it in snuggles and kisses.

Florence’s favorite activities include getting tummy rubs, pets, going on walks to sniff around, being curious, and eating her food and treats!

This sweet pea (nicknamed Ms. Sassy Lovebug by the TAP staff) would love to be someone’s princess and would prefer to be the sole doggo in the household.

At We Love Doggos we love ALL dogs, but we have a special place in our hearts for the “underdogs”, dogs like our very own Ellie Pickles and dogs like Florence.

In that regard, We Love Doggos would be more than happy to…

• Pay 50% of the adoption fee to adopt Florence
• Help transport her to your location if you do not live in the San Diego area
• Help cover the cost of medication ($40/month) for the first year

PS – One last heart-warming story…

Recently on our community Facebook page, we played a really fun game! We had a photo of some of the most iconic doggos, from Scooby Doo and Snoopy to Clifford and Balto. Below it we posed a question to our members…”Which doggo would YOU choose?” The most heartwarming answer was…
