At We Love Doggos, our impact is measured in wagging tails, second chances, and lives saved. Since our founding, we have helped rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome thousands of dogs from high-risk situations, thanks to the unwavering support of our community and charity partners. Every initiative we launch, from life-saving transports to medical care, directly contributes to ending the needless euthanasia of dogs in the United States.
FREEDOM RIDE
Through our Freedom Rides, we have rescued hundreds of dogs from overcrowded, high-kill shelters, transporting them to safe foster homes and no-kill shelters where they have a chance at adoption.
Problem: Every year, millions of dogs enter overcrowded shelters, and thousands face euthanasia simply due to lack of space. Many of these dogs are highly adoptable but are trapped in high-kill shelters with no way out. Transporting them to foster homes, forever homes, and no-kill shelters could save their lives, but most rescues lack the resources to fund safe and reliable transportation. Without intervention, these dogs never get the second chance they deserve.
Impact: To break this cycle, our Dog Rescue Heroes Club donated and equipped a Freedom Van for The Underdog Railroad, one of our charity partners dedicated to life-saving transport. The van was specially outfitted with sound insulation and air conditioning, ensuring dogs travel in comfort and safety. The Heroes Club funds 100% of the fuel, tires, oil changes, and maintenance, keeping the Freedom Van rolling and saving lives every single week. Each Freedom Ride rescues dogs from euthanasia, transporting them to places where they are wanted, loved, and adopted into forever homes.
Since launching this initiative, hundreds of dogs have been saved—and we’re just getting started. With every mile, every journey, and every tail wag, we’re turning heartbreak into hope.
VIVA LOS DOGGOS
Our Viva Los Doggos program has provided vital medical treatments, vaccinations, and essential supplies to underserved communities, ensuring dogs receive the care they need to live healthy, happy lives.
Problem: In underserved communities, many pet owners lack access to basic veterinary care, flea and tick treatments, and preventive health measures. Without these necessities, dogs face a higher risk of disease, malnutrition, and abandonment.
Impact: Our Viva Los Doggos initiative has provided life-saving vaccinations and flea & tick treatments, ensuring that dogs in these communities stay healthy and protected. By addressing these fundamental needs, we help pet owners keep their dogs healthy and prevent suffering.
SPAY IT FORWARD
Our Spay It Forward initiative has helped reduce pet overpopulation through subsidized spay and neuter services, directly preventing thousands of unwanted litters.
Problem: Uncontrolled breeding contributes to millions of unwanted dogs each year, overwhelming shelters and leading to more euthanasia. Many families cannot afford the cost of spay and neuter procedures, leaving the cycle of overpopulation unbroken.
Impact: Through Spay It Forward, we’ve subsidized spay and neuter services for dogs in low income and impoverished communities. By preventing thousands of unwanted litters, we are actively reducing shelter overcrowding and giving existing dogs a better chance at finding loving homes.
HEROES VILLAGE
One of our proudest achievements is Heroes Village, built at Dulce Vida Dog Rescue. Before this project, dogs at Dulce Vida had no shelter, no training, and almost no chance of adoption. They were safe but living in poor conditions, overwhelmed and overlooked.
Thanks to the Dog Rescue Heroes Club, we built Heroes Village, providing giant dog houses with individual crates and blankets to keep the dogs warm and dry. We also funded professional training, transforming these once-forgotten dogs into well-behaved, adoptable companions. Now, these dogs are finding loving homes instead of being forgotten.
Problem: At Dulce Vida Dog Rescue, dogs were being saved from dangerous situations but had no shelter, no training, and no chance of adoption. The facility was overwhelmed, lacking the resources to provide adequate housing or behavioral support. Many dogs spent their entire lives in a crowded, exposed environment, without ever finding a home.
Impact: To solve this, our Dog Rescue Heroes Club built Heroes Village, providing large, secure dog houses with individual crates and blankets so every dog has a warm, dry place to sleep. We also funded professional dog training, turning anxious and unadoptable dogs into calm, well-behaved companions. Now, with safe shelter and proper training, these dogs are finally finding loving homes and fur-ever families, giving them the second chance they deserve.
SAVE-A-SHELTER
Our work goes beyond rescue—we are committed to long-term solutions. Save-A-Shelter is improving conditions at underfunded shelters, giving dogs a better quality of life while they wait for their forever homes.
On one of our Save-A-Shelter missions, we purchased and installed a large gazebo shade structure at Tobacco Valley Animal Shelter, providing a comfortable space for potential adopters to meet the dogs. Since its installation, adoptions have doubled, proving that simple improvements can make a life-changing difference.
Problem: Many animal shelters struggle with poor facilities, making it difficult for potential adopters to interact with dogs in a welcoming environment. Without a comfortable space to meet, dogs are often overlooked, leading to longer stays and lower adoption rates.
Impact: We took action by funding and installing a large gazebo shade structure at Tobacco Valley Animal Shelter, creating a space where both people and dogs can comfortably interact. Since the installation, adoption rates have doubled, proving that even small facility upgrades can have a massive impact on saving lives.
LEASHES OF LOVE
Our Leashes of Love campaign donates collars and leashes to underfunded shelters and impoverished communities, giving dogs the dignity and safety they deserve.
Problem: Many shelters and pet owners in impoverished communities lack the resources to provide basic necessities such as leashes and collars. Without these essential tools, dogs are more likely to roam freely, increasing the number of strays and putting them at risk of injury, illness, or capture by overcrowded shelters.
Impact: Leashes of Love donates collars and leashes to underfunded shelters and struggling communities, ensuring dogs can be safely handled and transported. By equipping dogs with proper leashes and collars, we help them get to vet visits, adoption events, and safe outdoor spaces while also reducing the number of strays. This initiative brings dignity to the lives of dogs and strengthens the bond between them and their owners.
None of this would be possible without our dedicated Dog Rescue Heroes Club, our Packo community, and our network of Charity Partners. Together, we are on a mission to save 10,000 dogs in 2025 and ultimately bring an end to the practice of kill shelters in the U.S.
At We Love Doggos, we believe that every dog deserves love, safety, and a second chance. Our impact is real, and it’s growing—one rescue, one adoption, and one life at a time.
