Spay It Forward

Breaking The Cycle One Snip at a Time

Every year, thousands of dogs in underprivileged communities face lives of suffering due to overpopulation. Through Spay It Forward, we’re making a lasting difference by providing free spay and neuter services to the dogs of Ensenada, Mexico. In partnership with Los Adoptables, our mission is simple but powerful: prevent unwanted litters, reduce suffering, and create a healthier future for both dogs and their communities.

What Is Spay It Forward?

Spay It Forward is an ongoing mission dedicated to reducing the suffering of at-risk dogs in Ensenada, Mexico. Partnering with our friends at Los Adoptables, we fully fund a community spay and neuter clinic twice per year to provide free, essential veterinary care to local dogs. 

In an area overrun with feral street dogs, these clinics help prevent countless unwanted litters, easing the strain on shelters and giving these dogs a healthier, happier future.

Held at the Los Adoptables shelter, the event welcomes families from the community who bring their beloved dogs—many without collars, leashes, or even a proper way to transport them. 

We’ve seen dogs arrive in everything from old blankets to net bags, carried with love by owners who will wait all day just to ensure their pets get the care they need.

How It Works

The process begins with a quick health check upon arrival to ensure each dog is ready for surgery. From there, they are prepped and taken to a makeshift operating room, where skilled veterinarians volunteer their time to perform the life-changing procedures. 

Once surgery is complete, dogs are brought to a recovery area, where they are carefully monitored to ensure a smooth post-op experience.

Even our own Packo Leader, Terry Williamson, rolls up his sleeves to help—his job? Spraying the incisions as the dogs are carried out of surgery to begin their healing process. 

At We Love Doggos, we don’t just fund the clinic—we’re on the ground, doing whatever it takes to support these animals and their families.

A Community Effort of Love

Spay It Forward is more than just a clinic—it’s a movement to create lasting change. 

By offering these free procedures to pet owners in need, we are reducing the overpopulation of stray dogs, preventing future suffering, and strengthening the bond between dogs and their families. 

Each clinic is a small but powerful step toward a future where every dog is loved, cared for, and free from the harsh realities of street life.

With the help of our Dog Rescue Heroes Club, we’re committed to continuing this mission and making a difference—one spay and neuter at a time.
